FI Consulting is seeking a full-time Senior Data Management Consultant with 5+ years of professional experience, to help lead and advise our client on an ERP implementation. 

For more than 20 years, financial institutions in the Federal, private, and public sectors have called on FI Consulting to address complex and high-stakes analytical challenges closely scrutinized by executives, auditors, regulators, and stakeholders. We help clients succeed by applying our core strengths in business applications of Data Engineering, Analytics, Modeling, and Business Architecture to gain insight into finances, loans, and performance; manage risk; and improve operations.                  

Position Overview:   
  • Update and/or maintain the Data Management Strategy that considers all necessary activities to migrate data from current financial, procurement, and asset management systems to target systems.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate Data Conversion/Data Clean-up working groups with stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations on data cleansing approaches and business rules across multiple lines of business.
  • Track stakeholder validation of data clean-up and data cleansing.
  • Develop and/or maintain data clean-up/data cleansing dashboards.
  • Assist in the execution of all data conversion and data clean-up activities (e.g., data cleansing, mock conversion, data research, etc.) this may include:
    • Analyzing all source system data for anomalies that affect data integrity.
    • Executing cleansing of data as determined by results of analysis. This may include the development and execution of database scripts.
    • Integrating this progress with the Integrated Master Schedule.
    • Identifying and implementing interim solutions to assist OCFO in improving and streamlining business processes to improve the quality of financial data before migration.
    • Leveraging data warehouses and repositories to analyze CISA data and identify anomalies to be corrected.

Required Skills: 

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, preferably within an Accounting or Finance team.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Analysis, Data Profiling, Data Cataloging, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Dictionary, Data Mapping, Data Policy, and Data Governance
  • Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization
  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas including reports and presentations
  • Aptitude and interest in learning other analytics tools and programming languages
  • Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations
  • Experience with migrating data to an integrated system which includes data cross-walking and data reconciliation
  • Ability to handle large datasets, ensure data accuracy, and implement data governance practices
  • Deep understanding of table relationships, and ability to compile, manipulate, and aggregate data
  • Strong ability to identify trends and identify actionable insight and make informed decisions from data

Preferred Technologies:

  • SQL, Python, Excel VBA or other data query languages
  • Python, R, JavaScript, or other automation programming languages
  • Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other data analysis and Visualization Tools
  • Azure, AWS, GCP, or other cloud providers
Keys to Success in this Role:    
  • Proficiency with federal financial management and accounting concepts
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and oversee the data team activities and strategy 
  • Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in data mapping, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Hardworking individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, analytical mind, problem-solving aptitude, and strong organization skills who inspires teammates to reach their maximum potential
