FI’s Senior Consultant role encompasses the methodologies, tools, and approaches that transform client data into a valuable asset. The primary responsibility of this individual is to process and analyze data used in a variety of critical applications, e.g., acquisitions, loan origination, account maintenance, collections.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting complex data sets in various software packages using statistical and financial techniques
  • Work closely with model owners, business lines, and risk managers to improve models and analytics through data
  • Collect data from various sources, perform analysis and interpret results to assist in making impactful business decisions
  • Assist in data strategy and governance, data quality, and data architecture and modeling projects
  • Secure and protect company and client data and information and prevent its improper disclosure.

Required qualifications

  • BS/BA in STEM related degree
  • 5+ years of experience in capturing, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets
  • Knowledge of data structures, data warehouse concepts, and data modeling
  • Knowledge of methods for preparing data for statistical models and/or Machine Learning models
  • Experience developing and automating extraction, transform, and load (ETL) processes including using enterprise data integration tools
  • Experience using enterprise database platforms (Oracle, IBM, SAP HANA, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience writing SQL and programming knowledge in SAS, Python or R
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Experience in programming in a Unix environment
  • Ability to articulate highly technical information in a simple, concise, clear, and understandable manner

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a Quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Econometrics
  • Experience in the financial services industry, including credit risk, market risk, and fraud detection
  • Ability to source and manipulate data from cloud-based infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Data Bricks)
  • Familiarity with graph databases (RDF, property, and accompanying databases)
  • Prior consulting experience
