FI Consulting is seeking a full-time Technical Project Lead – Senior Consultant to support the delivery of financial, analytical, and technical support services for our Federal client. This role is a hybrid position and will require an on-site presence at the client site in Camp Springs, MD.

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to provide technical leadership for a project that will support the OCFO of a major federal agency in automating financial reporting, data visualization and analysis, procedure documentation and enhancement, leveraging RPA to automate manual tasks, and enterprise application development and enhancement.

The responsibilities of this role will include working directly with client-side leadership to drive requirements gathering and pinpoint opportunities for improvements to their current technology and processes, followed by assisting junior staff with solution design and development while managing daily workflow across the project. Additionally, providing hands-on development support may be required at times. Experience in areas including federal accounting, data engineering, and project management is strongly preferred.


Required:
  • Experience with SQL and Python
  • Experience with Databricks and AWS
  • Familiarity with PowerApps and Salesforce
  • Experience with the Agile methodology, drafting stories and using JIRA
  • Familiarity with federal accounting practices and systems
  • Ability to quickly ramp up as a self-starter
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience providing technical leadership to small and medium-sized teams
  • Strong communication skills with attention to details are also paramount to success
  • 3-5 years of experience
Responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with client staff to understand needs and gather requirements while working to solve challenges through the development of specific analytical software tools
  • Supporting junior staff in designing solutions and planning development cycles
  • Clearly communicating complex, technical concepts to both technical and non-technical clients
  • Provide technical guidance and direct development support to junior staff as needed
  • Actively seeking out opportunities for FI to expand the solutions we offer to our clients
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Math, Computer Science or other applicable quantitative or technical field
  • Experience working within an OCFO or with financial and accounting data and processes
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Able to work in a deadline-driven, project-based environment, where the schedule can be unpredictable
  • High attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality work
  • Team player – willingness to contribute to all tasks needed to accomplish team goals
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly, and to take on a broad range of analytical tasks
  • Demonstrated consulting experience with Federal clients
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills
  • Strong interest in technology
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced demanding environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
